Love is in the air during the Christmas season. Once again, the Hallmark Channel is featuring love and home exchanges in their TV specials.
We’re addicted to all things, “home exchange.” So, of course, we watched “Debbie Macomber’s Trading Christmas” one more time this year. The plot for this flick involves serendipitous romance at two home exchange locations, Boston and Washington State. Emily (Faith Ford) misses her daughter Heather (Emma Lahana), who is attending college in Boston. Emily arranges a home exchange with Charles (Tom Cavanagh), an English professor who is encouraged by his brother Ray (Gil Bellows) to get out of town so he can finish on his novel. Surprise romances unfold on both home exchange locations.
There is also the made-for-TV movie,”Finding Christmas.” This story involves a single mother Ryan (Tricia Helfer) whose brother Owen (JT Hodges) swaps his home in their small North Carolina Town with New York City adman Sean (Mark Lutz). Ryan has just about given up on dating since her divorce, until Sean arrives on the scene. But Sean is feeling out of step in his new temporary rural setting. Meanwhile, back in New York, Owen starts to fall for Sean’s assistant Mia (Cristina Rosato) who helps him adjust to his upscale New York City home swap. Will these temporary holiday romances turn into something longer lasting?
The Christmas season is always a great time to get inspired to start marking your own plans for a home exchange.
