A pastor friend asked, “What is an appropriate use of one’s sabbatical?”
Our answer, “It all depends. The main thing is to get away and get refreshed.”
During one of our sabbaticals, we visited the Mississippi Headwaters at Itasca State Park in Minnesota with our extended family. This was a major achievement, as we, our children, and their families all live in Florida! One joyous outcome of this experience was a picture we took of our six grandchildren sitting on the same log that their parents sat on 31 years earlier! In our opinion, that was an example of a perfect way to use one’s sabbatical!
